These terms cover your use of coachjohnbush.com and the online courses you buy from me: Social Skills Mastery, Good With People, and the Crushes and Respect bonus module. By using the site or buying a course, you agree to them. Coaching packages have their own written agreement, and that agreement is what covers coaching.
Buying a course
- You must be 18 or older to buy a course.
- Good With People is for teenagers, roughly 13 to 17. A parent or guardian should buy it using their own name and email address. The account belongs to the parent, the teen signs in with it, and the parent is responsible for how it is used. Thinkific, which runs the course platform, also requires a parent's permission and involvement for users under 16.
- Prices are in US dollars and are shown on the sales pages and at checkout. Courses are a one-time payment, processed through Thinkific by Stripe or PayPal. Sales tax may be added at checkout where the law requires it.
- "Lifetime access" means you keep your access to a course for as long as the course is offered online.
- Your Thinkific account is also covered by Thinkific's own terms, because Thinkific runs the course platform.

If a course isn't right for you, email support@coachjohnbush.com within 30 days of your purchase and I'll refund the full price. Your access to the course ends when the refund goes through. Refunds aren't available after those 30 days.
Using the courses
A course is for your own personal use. With Good With People, that means use by your household. Please don't share your login with people outside your household, resell access, or copy, post or pass around the videos, written lessons, quizzes or exercise lists. You're welcome to quote a short piece when you talk about a course, for example in a review.
Everything on this site and in the courses belongs to me, John Bush, unless it says otherwise. If someone breaks these rules, I can end their access without a refund.
Education, not therapy
My courses, articles, guides and coaching teach social skills. They are education. They are not therapy or counseling, they are not medical, psychological or legal advice, and they don't diagnose or treat any condition.
If you or your teen are dealing with something beyond social skills, please talk to a doctor, counselor or other qualified professional. If someone is in crisis or in danger, call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline in the US), or call 911.
Practicing in real life
The exercises ask you to practice with real people in everyday places. You choose what you do and how you do it, and you are responsible for your own actions. Use common sense, follow the rules of your school or workplace, and skip any exercise that doesn't feel safe. Parents know their teens best and decide what is right for them.
I can't promise any particular result. How much you improve depends on how much you practice.
Things you post
If a course lets you post comments, discussion posts or reviews, please keep them respectful and don't share anyone's private information. When you post, you give me permission to show your post in the course and on the course pages. I can remove any post. If you are under 18, you can ask me to remove anything you posted, as explained in my Privacy Policy.
Schools and organizations
School and district licenses are arranged with me directly, in writing. If a school's written agreement says something different from these terms, the agreement controls.
Other websites
This site links to other websites and services, such as Thinkific and Calendly. They have their own terms and privacy policies, and I'm not responsible for them.
The legal part
- The site and the courses are provided "as is." I work hard to keep them accurate and useful, but I can't promise they will always be available or free of mistakes.
- To the extent the law allows, I am not responsible for indirect or consequential losses. My total responsibility for any claim related to the site or a course is limited to the amount you paid me for that course.
- California law governs these terms. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California.
- If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms, and the effective date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. The terms in place when you bought a course still decide your refund rights for that purchase.
